Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems for agricultural projects. Your expertise will ensure that electrical installations meet all safety standards and code requirements, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of facilities. Duties Install, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems in agricultural environment using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts. Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot low voltage and high voltage systems effectively. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation equipment to support industrial electrical needs. Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and safety regulations. Conduct inspections on construction sites to verify proper installation of electrical components and ensure adherence to project specifications. Perform maintenance tasks on existing electrical systems, including upgrades or repairs as needed during construction or renovation projects. Utilize schematics for wiring diagrams and frame carpentry skills when necessary for structural adjustments related to electrical installations. Collaborate with other trades such as electricians, carpenters, or handyman teams to complete projects efficiently. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including incident reports and inspection logs. Experience Proven experience as a journeyman electrician with a strong background in agricultural electrical systems. Hands-on experience working on construction sites with knowledge of renovation processes. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical diagrams is essential. Demonstrated ability to work safely with high voltage and low voltage systems in compliance with NEC standards. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or automation systems is highly desirable. Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers, along with power tools for installation tasks. Knowledge of Ohmmeters for testing electrical circuits effectively.
