Are you the electrician other techs call when they can't figure out what's wrong? At Edelman, we're not just running electrical calls — we're building a team homeowners trust with their homes, and a team members are proud to be part of. We're looking for an Experienced Electrical Service Tech who can run a residential call solo, diagnose it right the first time, and treat every customer's home like their own. If you're done cutting corners for someone else's bottom line, this is your seat.
What You'll Do:
Diagnose and Repair:
Troubleshoot and resolve residential electrical issues — panel upgrades, wiring repairs, outlet and fixture installs, and everything in between — without someone looking over your shoulder. Run the
Call Solo:
Own each service call start to finish, from diagnosis through the invoice, representing Edelman as the professional in the home. Tell the
Truth:
Explain what's wrong, what it costs, and why — no scare tactics, no recommending work that isn't needed. Follow the
Code:
Pull permits, meet local jurisdiction requirements, and never cut a corner that could put a family at risk.
Keep Safety Non-Negotiable:
PPE, lockout/tagout, and proper procedure on every job, every time.
Leave It Better:
Clean job sites, respect for the home, and accurate documentation with photos and notes so the next tech — or the customer — knows exactly what happened.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
Solid residential electrical service experience — troubleshooting and repair, not just new-construction rough-in.
Licensing:
Journeyman-level experience or equivalent; specific certification requirements vary by city/county — we'll confirm what applies to your location.
Expertise:
Comfortable diagnosing panel, wiring, GFCI/AFCI, and load issues independently, with a solid grasp of residential code requirements.
Mindset:
Radically Honest — you tell the customer the truth, even when it's not the easy answer.
Dependability:
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and pride in keeping your vehicle and tools in order.
What Edelman Offers:
Compensation:
$30-$40/hour, commensurate with experience.
Benefits :
Health/dental/vision insurance
Retirement :
401(k) match up to 4%
Time Off:
Paid time off, accrued in compliance with the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act.
Growth:
A team and a company built to grow your career, not just fill a shift. Ready to Run the Call? If you're the tech who diagnoses it right the first time and tells the customer the truth every time, we want to talk. Apply today and start building a career you can be proud of.
