Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join VMB Construction. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and construction sites. You will also need to know how to bend conduit pipe. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, electrical codes, and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from renovations to new installations, utilizing your technical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver high-quality results efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage wiring in commercial and industrial settings. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical projects. Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform wiring, conduit bending, panel installation, and other electrical tasks. Test electrical circuits using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to ensure proper functionality. Work on construction sites performing rough-in wiring, fixture installation, and system upgrades while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or renovation teams to coordinate work efforts. Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following all safety protocols and regulations related to electrical work. Skills Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems and codes. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for accurate installation and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems is highly desirable. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment effectively. Knowledge of NEC standards for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety procedures and building codes. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly using schematics or troubleshooting guides. Handyman experience or frame carpentry skills are a plus for versatile project support. Pay:
$31.22 - $37.60 per hour
