Summary:
The job of HVAC and Maintenance is done for the purpose/s of performing skilled technical work and/or troubleshooting problems in the installation, maintenance (preventative, etc.), repair, inspection and monitoring of heating, cooling and refrigeration systems/equipment with associated plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills. Proficiency in the diagnosis and calibration of EMS control systems (Energy Management System Control). This position reports to the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
Qualifications:
Experience / Education HVAC Type Universal CFC Certification High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Valid Driver's License Job Responsibilities Assume primary responsibilities for all heating, hot water, low pressure, steam boilers, pneumatic control systems, uni vents, a/c systems, and refrigeration. Assume responsibility for all filter changes on all district-owned heating & cooling systems Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase and maintain the inventory of district
  • owned hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials, and supplies directly related to his/her usage.
Assist in estimating cost of repair projects in terms of labor, material, and overhead as requested by the Director of Building and Grounds. Examine district-owned facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventive maintenance and report findings to the Director of Buildings and Grounds. Responsible for maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operation. Adjust building thermostats for controlled temperature. Assist as needed for snow removal. Perform additional duties as assisgned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds. Train and manage the BAS system. Equipment Uses hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, snow blowers, shovels, power mower and hand tools. Safety Requirements Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used in the performance of duties. Wears appropriate safety gear, including masks. Must comply with school district's chemical hygiene program and follow MSDS sheets. Travel Requirements This position requires traveling to various school sites, work locations, and/or community organizations throughout the district.

Lifting Demands:
Up to 80 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions. Works in standard office and school building environments.
