C JOB PURPOSE
The Mechanic Electrician C is to perform duties to repair, install, assemble and maintain a variety of production and facility equipment following standard procedures.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work from work orders, prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, machine manuals, hydraulic and pneumatic prints, machinist handbook, and written/oral instructions Aid in diagnosing machine or equipment problems, troubleshoot, check machine components for malfunctions involving mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic functions to determine equipment problems With direction, tear down equipment, replace defective parts and components, rebuild and test repaired equipment for proper operation Perform scheduled preventive maintenance. Check for proper electrical connections, electronic devices, hydraulic components, drives, chains, belt drives, sprockets, bearings, etc. for proper operation Assist higher level electricians tear down units, check and replace defective and worn parts, perform drilling, fitting pipe/hose, and other operations as required With direction, move and install equipment, level, and anchor as necessary, disconnect and reconnect electric power, air, oil, water, gas, and coolant lines With direction, build special machinery following assembly layouts, order parts, assemble, wire, and add fluid lines as necessary Hook up and test run equipment Fabricate sheet metal, plastic, and wood, primarily for safety devices Use personal computer, electrical test equipment, hand power equipment, power shear, hand finger brake press, drill press, power drill press, forklift trucks, electric hoists, torque wrench, hand tools, and other tools and equipment as required Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition Other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED 1+ Years Relevant Experience Ability to read, write, communicate and follow directions in English. Must have knowledge of electrical power up to 240 volts. Proficient in shop math and use of complicated drawings and specifications.
