Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrician to design, install, test, and maintain electrical systems for custom-built houseboats. This role involves working with marine-grade electrical systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with marine and electrical codes. Key Responsibilities Install, wire, and maintain marine and residential-style electrical systems on houseboats Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams Install and connect AC/DC systems , including: Shore power connections Battery banks and inverters Solar power systems (if applicable) Generators and charging systems Install lighting, outlets, appliances, control panels, and navigation-related electrical components Ensure all electrical work complies with marine safety standards and local electrical codes Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and system failures Test systems using appropriate diagnostic tools to ensure proper operation Work closely with boat builders, plumbers, and other trades during construction Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Required Qualifications Proven experience as an Electrician (marine experience preferred but not always required) Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems Ability to work in confined spaces and on water-based platforms Familiarity with marine-grade wiring, corrosion prevention, and grounding systems Ability to read technical drawings and schematics Strong problem-solving and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Marine electrician certification or previous boat/houseboat experience Knowledge of solar, inverter, and battery management systems Experience with custom builds or luxury houseboats Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities
