Job Title:
Journeyman Electrician Job Description This role focuses on tool installation and electrical hookups in a semiconductor cleanroom environment. You will work on fast-paced industrial projects, installing and connecting tools, conduit systems, lighting, and control systems while interpreting blueprints and supporting a growing Texas operation. Responsibilities Install and hook up semiconductor tools and related electrical systems in a fast-paced industrial environment. Assist with the installation and layout of conduit systems, including bending and routing conduit to meet project specifications. Install and support various lighting systems, basic control systems, and motor feeders, including standard motor connections. Read, interpret, and analyze blueprints to understand job site requirements and plan work effectively. Prepare for upcoming tasks by anticipating necessary tools, equipment, procedures, and training needs. Complete overall job layouts for projects of limited scope and size, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Lead and coordinate small crews of approximately 2-5 electricians when assigned, providing direction and support to team members. Troubleshoot electrical issues in industrial and construction environments, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Support construction activities by working collaboratively with the electrical construction team to meet project timelines and quality standards. Enforce and promote a safe jobsite by following company safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and any customer-specific safety standards. Maintain strong customer relations by communicating clearly, responding to needs promptly, and applying effective problem-solving techniques. Document work as required, including recording changes, updating layouts, and communicating progress to supervisors or project leads. Essential Skills Journeyman-level electrician with approximately 6+ years of electrical experience. Active TDLR license in good standing. Proficiency in installing and hooking up tools and equipment in an industrial or semiconductor environment. Strong experience with conduit installation, including bending conduit accurately and efficiently. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze blueprints for electrical construction projects. Hands-on experience with industrial electrical installations, including lighting systems, control systems, and motor feeders. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in electrical and construction settings. Capability to perform job layouts for smaller projects and ensure alignment with design and safety requirements. Experience working in a fast-paced construction or industrial environment while maintaining quality and safety. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and standard electrical safety practices, with the ability to enforce safety protocols on site. Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to maintain positive customer relationships. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience leading or supervising small crews of 2-5 electricians on limited-scope projects. Background in semiconductor or cleanroom environments, including familiarity with their unique requirements and standards. Ability to anticipate project needs, including tools, equipment, and training, to keep work progressing smoothly. Comfort working extended hours and multiple days per week to support project schedules. Apprentice-level electricians may support journeyman electricians as part of the broader team structure. Work Environment This role is based in a semiconductor facility, working primarily in a cleanroom environment where cleanliness and attention to detail are critical. The schedule typically runs from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, providing consistent and extended work hours. You will work on industrial construction sites that combine cleanroom conditions with traditional electrical construction activities, using standard electrical tools, conduit equipment, and layout instruments. The environment is fast paced and highly structured, with a strong emphasis on safety, adherence to procedures, and compliance with both company and customer standards. Cleanroom work may require specific attire and protective gear appropriate for controlled environments, aligned with site policies and safety requirements. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
