Job Description

Position Summary The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the feed mill and grain operations. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring safe, continuous operation in a fast-paced, industrial environment that operates nearly 24/7. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, motor controls, VFDs, PLC-related wiring, panels, and sensors Diagnose electrical issues in feed mill and grain handling equipment (conveyors, bucket elevators, grinders, mixers, pellet mills, etc.) Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime Respond to emergency electrical breakdowns during production hours, including nights or weekends as needed Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals Assist with equipment upgrades, new installations, and process improvements Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and company safety policies Lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices at all times Work closely with maintenance, operations, and management teams to support production goals Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Keep work areas clean and organized Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Industrial or commercial electrical experience preferred Knowledge of 3-phase power systems and industrial motor controls Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems under production conditions Strong understanding of electrical safety practices Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or on-call rotations Ability to work in industrial environments (dust, noise, heights, confined spaces) Preferred Qualifications Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience is preferred Experience in feed mills, grain elevators, agriculture, or manufacturing environments PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley or similar) Experience with VFDs and automation systems Electrical certification or technical training Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods Comfortable working in dusty, noisy, and temperature-variable environments Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Physical Capacity Profile is mandatory.
