Hiring Agency General Government Cabinet | Department of Veterans Affairs Location 926 Veterans Drive Hanson, KY 42413 USA Description The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking a self-motivated, energetic Mechanical Maintenance and Operations Tech I. Skills and expectations for this position include but are not limited to: Performs the work of employees in the maintenance and operation of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical systems and associated equipment Repairs and maintains electrical, plumbing and sewerage operations. Inspects and checks for the working performance of equipment. The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190. A fingerprint- supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment. (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age. Working Conditions May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in
KRS 18A.111.
