Electric Motor Winder About Us Red Stick Armature Works has been in business since 1959, making us the oldest locally owned, complete electromechanical repair and service facility in Louisiana. We are a growing, motivated company located in St. Francisville, LA . Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Electric Motor Winder to perform the repair, rewinding, and electrical testing of electromechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have prior hands-on experience working with stator windings, motor leads, and related electrical systems. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet precise specifications while maintaining high safety and quality standards. This position follows a 4-days on / 4-days off shift schedule and is ideal for individuals who enjoy technical work, problem-solving, and being part of a high-performance team .Please Note:

Key Responsibilities Test, repair, rewind, and inspect electric motors and related equipment. Remove old windings, prep stators for rewinding, and install new windings to required specifications. Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions to complete repairs correctly. Repair and reconnect stators, rotors, armatures, motor leads, and other electrical components. Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, welding equipment, and winding machines safely and properly. Perform electrical testing and inspections to make sure equipment is operating correctly and meets quality standards. Operate or assist with forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment as needed. Help move and handle motors, parts, and materials throughout the shop. Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and quality standards. Complete repair paperwork and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 1-3 years of experience in electric motor winding, industrial electrical work, maintenance, or related mechanical repair preferred. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and basic electrical drawings. Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and welding equipment. Experience working with electric motors, generators, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial equipment is a plus. Ability to safely work in a fast-paced shop environment. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to learn. Must pass drug and physical testing. Preferred Experience Experience rewinding and repairing different sizes of electric motors. Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other shop equipment. Background in industrial electrical systems or motor repair. Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay (based on experience).
