Job Description

Job Title:
Licensed Journeyman Electrician - High-End Residential New Construction Job Description This role focuses on installing, wiring, and commissioning electrical systems for high-end, ground-up residential construction projects. You will interpret blueprints, install advanced lighting and smart-home systems, and ensure all work complies with Massachusetts electrical codes and safety standards. The position offers significant autonomy, the opportunity to work on multi-million-dollar homes, and the potential to mentor apprentices as the company continues to grow. Responsibilities Install and wire complete electrical systems for new high-end residential construction, including ground-up new builds. Interpret and work from blueprints and electrical schematics to execute complex electrical layouts accurately and efficiently. Install a wide range of lighting systems such as recessed lighting, smart lighting solutions, architectural fixtures, and landscape lighting. Set up and wire main electrical panels, sub-panels, and perform service upgrades in accordance with Massachusetts electrical code. Integrate smart-home technologies, including home automation systems, electric vehicle (EV) chargers, and whole-home networking infrastructure. Run and install conduit and related components as required for residential electrical installations. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, identifying root causes and implementing safe, reliable, and long-term solutions. Maintain strict compliance with state and local electrical codes and all applicable safety standards on every project. Collaborate closely with general contractors, designers, subcontractors, and homeowners to ensure seamless project execution and coordination. Communicate effectively with subcontractors and project stakeholders to provide updates on progress, issues, and required changes. Document work performed, including installations, modifications, and repairs, and communicate progress to project leadership as needed. Work with autonomy on job sites while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship and professionalism. Potentially manage and mentor an apprentice working alongside you, providing guidance, training, and direction as needed. Essential Skills Current Massachusetts Journeyman Electrical License. Proven experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician specializing in residential new construction. Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and electrical schematics. Hands-on experience installing and wiring residential electrical systems, including panels, sub-panels, and service upgrades. Proficiency in installing various lighting systems, including recessed lighting, smart lighting, architectural fixtures, and landscape lighting. Experience integrating smart-home technologies such as automation systems, EV chargers, and whole-home networking. Ability to run and install conduit in residential construction environments. Solid troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and repairing electrical issues with a focus on safety and long-term reliability. Familiarity with and adherence to Massachusetts electrical code and local electrical regulations. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with general contractors, designers, subcontractors, and homeowners. Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Basic set of journeyman electrician tools suitable for residential construction work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on high-end or luxury residential construction projects. Collaborating with multiple trades on complex residential builds. Ability or interest in supervising and mentoring an electrical apprentice on site. Comfort working with advanced lighting controls and smart-home platforms. Work Environment You will work primarily on multi-million-dollar residential new builds, including large, complex homes in affluent areas such as Weston, MA. Projects include high-value custom properties with advanced electrical, lighting, and smart-home systems. Work is performed on active construction sites, collaborating with general contractors, designers, and other trades. The environment involves typical residential construction conditions, including working both indoors and outdoors, navigating partially completed structures, and using standard electrical tools and equipment. A basic set of journeyman electrician tools is required, and you will be expected to maintain a professional appearance appropriate for high-end residential job sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boxborough, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
