Job Description

Job Description A client of Insight Global is looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join their team. This individual will be working in transportation stations across the DMV area.
Day to day responsibilities below:
Key Responsibilities Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Test electrical systems using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, wiring, devices, and components
  • Analyze blueprints, maps, and testing results to diagnose issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections Transit Communications Infrastructure Support
  • Maintain and troubleshoot underground wireless communication systems, including: o Coaxial and fiber networks, Signal boosters, Remote power modules, Repeaters, Antennas, Combiner trays
  • Conduct hardware and software troubleshooting on communications infrastructure Documentation & Compliance
  • Document testing results, observations, corrective actions, and resolutions
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC requirements and WMATA safety standards
  • Maintain equipment and report deficiencies as needed Field Support & Coordination
  • Provide technical support to carrier engineering and construction teams
  • Coordinate track access and escort activities
  • Respond to emergency service calls when required
  • Work safely at heights using ladders, scaffolds, platforms, and lifts Independent Operations
  • Operate independently during overnight maintenance windows
  • Manage priorities and complete assignments without direct on-site supervision Pay Ranges from $90,000-$1000,000 + commission.

Skills and Requirements Required Qualifications Completed electrician apprenticeship Valid Journeyman Electrician License (DC or Maryland with reciprocity) Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes Ability to read and interpret blueprints Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass criminal background screening and drug testing (including marijuana) Hands-on experience with DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), including: Field testing, Submeter repairs, Hardware troubleshooting, Equipment diagnostics Comfortable working in transit tunnels and confined infrastructure environments Working knowledge of: Fiber optics, Structured cabling, Basic RF systems and behavior
