Job Description

Plant Industrial Controls Electrician — Baltimore, MD 21223 A day in the life You start your shift walking the production floor, listening for the hum of healthy motors and scanning indicator lights. A line calls in a nuisance trip—within minutes you're tracing the circuit, reading a schematic, and isolating the fault. By mid-morning, you're installing a new conduit run to support an equipment upgrade. After lunch, you team up with maintenance and operations to fine-tune a line for better throughput, documenting each adjustment as you go. Before you wrap, you walk an apprentice through safe test procedures and lockout/tagout steps—because precision and safety are non-negotiable here. What you'll do Install, service, and repair plant electrical systems and production equipment in an industrial environment. Perform routine inspections and diagnostics to identify and resolve electrical issues proactively. Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute work. Uphold safety regulations and industry standards at all times. Collaborate with maintenance teammates to maximize equipment reliability and performance. Accurately document maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities. Assist with training and mentoring junior electricians and apprentices. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to boost operational efficiency. What you bring High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade certification preferred. Proven background as an industrial electrician or closely related role. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and safe work practices. Ability to read and apply technical documents and wiring diagrams. Sharp troubleshooting skills and meticulous attention to detail. Clear communication and strong teamwork mindset. Flexibility to work varied hours and respond to emergencies when needed. Valid electrician license/certification is a plus.
