Job Description

Duties The student will function as a lab technician for the following labs: energy, CAD, CNC, 3d-printing, electrical, instrumentation, hydraulic-pneumatic, motor, programmable-controller, robotics and Unmanned systems. This is a physically active job (organizing labs and lifting up to 50 pounds) in various buildings (STEM, ETTC, CPB, and CBES). Equipment and supplies must be procured, moved, cleaned, checked, and prepared for lab activities as required by the instructor(s). The student will also assist in troubleshooting and correcting equipment malfunctions. Special skills needed Some of the following skills are preferred:
Software Skills:
Knowledge in AUTOCAD/Autodesk Inventor, Automation Studio, Robot Studio, Viper, and/or similar tools.
Hardware Skills:
Power tools, hand tools, AC and DC circuits, batteries, motors, hydraulics and/or pneumatic systems, multi-meters, calipers and/or micrometers. Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability. 3d printing experience. Good organizational skills. Soldering experience. Electrical wiring experience. Additional information Preference will be given to students who are enrolled as candidates (or graduates) of one of the degree programs listed above. Completion of at least the first year foundation courses in the program is preferred. See the student worker handbook for other requirements and responsibilities.
MUST BE A CURRENT HCC STUDENT FOR THE
Spring 2026 SEMESTER.
MUST BE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 CREDITS. UNLESS FIRST-SEMESTER STUDENT, MUST HAVE ATTAINED A 2.0 SEMESTER GPA DURING THE LAST SEMESTER ATTENDED. APPLICATION DEADLINE
