ELECTRICIAN
•Our Client has a permanent (direct hire) Electrician position in Auburn Hills. This is a large tier one supplier with great beneftis and management. •
JOB SUMMARY
Set-up and performance of tasks such as wiring, soldering, testing, calibrating, repairing and recording data in the building of machines and tooling (and related prototypes) according to specifications for application in assembly operations. Use common hand tools, drills, saws, as well as basic electrical test instruments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read, comprehend, and execute technical process specifications, procedures, and standards. Fabricate electronic hardware of a developmental, prototype, or critical nature. Build, field wiring and debug of tooling and equipment. Assemble and test printed circuit boards, hardware assemblies, devices and systems in accordance with technical drawings, for functionality, component specification compliance, analysis of electrical circuits and components, etc. Troubleshoot hardware, assemblies, devices, systems, etc.; check and modify. Record and document test data; prepare sketches, schematics and graphical test results. Maintains safe operations and a clean work area by adhering to safety and housekeeping procedures/regulations. May make continuous improvement suggestions and participate in initiatives to improve productivity and process efficiency. May provide detailed written input for design reviews, proposals, specifications, work standards, and business processes. Complete all necessary forms, build documents and reports within a timely fashion, as required by the quality management system. Interface with customers and vendors as necessary. Communicate with Shop Manager as to progress of projects. Assist in maintaining predetermined inventory levels of components, supplies, materials, etc., in the build shop. All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in Electrical or Electronic Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
Years of Experience:
3+ years working with electrical and electronic systems and circuits, testing and troubleshooting; hand tools, soldering, wiring, assembly of electrical prototypes and recording data, preferably in the automotive industry.
Preferred:
IPC J-STD-001
soldering and
IPC-A-610
electronic assembly acceptability certifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong working knowledge of electronic assembly industry standards, including ESD practices and procedures. Ability to learn complex electronic SMT assembly equipment. Ability to read and follow complex schematics, assembly drawings, and execute detailed test procedures. High attention to technical detail. Strong knowledge of digital, analog, power, RF, and FPGA electronics. Ability to test and troubleshoot to the component level. Competent in operating test equipment such as digital multimeters (DMM's), digital oscilloscopes, thermocouples, strain gauges, signal generators and analyzers, programmable power supplies, etc. Ability to use common hand and power tools. Problem solving skills and decision-making ability. Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information and respond to questions from team members and customers. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines. Basic skills in using Microsoft Office Windows, Word, Excel, etc. Ability to use personal protective equipment and follow safety guidelines. Ability to maintain a neat and organized work area.
