Duties Lead and oversee electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades on construction sites and renovation projects, ensuring adherence to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise wiring layouts for commercial and industrial applications. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions. Install and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, high voltage circuits, and schematics for complex automation projects. Conduct inspections using multimeters and ohmmeters to verify circuit integrity, continuity, and proper grounding. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations including NEC guidelines; maintain a safe work environment on construction sites and during renovation activities. Mentor apprentices and junior electricians by sharing knowledge of construction practices, schematics reading, and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Skills Extensive experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong background in construction site environments. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for diverse electrical systems. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to perform precise electrical work. Knowledge of low voltage wiring systems as well as high voltage power distribution. Familiarity with NEC regulations, schematics interpretation, and code compliance standards. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation projects. Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently on construction or renovation sites while maintaining safety standards.
