JOB SUMMARY
Performs a variety of repetitive electrical maintenance duties necessary to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment needed to produce finished products, which requires an advanced understanding of control circuits, DC and AC drives, overhead cranes, electronics, and test equipment. Operates various electrical monitors and meters, hand tools, oscilloscope, and thermo energy camera. Receives general supervision with general instructions for assigned tasks from the Plant Superintendent and/or the Master Electrician. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives direction in the form of wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and/or instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection of work to be done from Plant Superintendent and/or Master Electrician. Checks, calibrates plant instrumentation, and inspects electrical equipment for defects. Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production. Advises when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect. Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts, replaces, and reassembles faulty parts on electrical equipment. Complies with Lockout/Tag Out policies and procedures. Works independently. Mostly works outside on lighting, transformers, etc. in extreme hot and cold conditions. Exposed to high levels of noise, which always requires hearing protection. Completes reports and forms as directed. Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings. EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED. Maintenance Electrician's license or Associate's electrical degree required. Ability to read, write, add, subtract, and follow instructions. EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2+ years of work experience as an electrician in a heavy industrial environment. PLC programming experience preferred. Make highly complex decisions regarding electrical maintenance. PHYSICAL DEMAND
Frequently required to stand and walk. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift and/or move at least 35 pounds.
