Full Job Description Field Industrial Automation Electrician Location:

North Kansas City, MO Compensation:

$30.00-$40.00 per hour Why this role Sunrise, truck loaded, coffee in hand—you're heading to a customer site to keep their operation humming. By mid-morning you've bent and set clean EMT runs, pulled in control wiring, and landed terminations on a custom panel. After lunch you track down a nuisance trip to a blown fuse and a loose ground, swap in a relay, verify motor rotation on a pump starter, and bring the system back online. If you can read schematics and understand core electrical theory, we'll teach you the advanced controls and instrumentation that take your craft to the next level. Panel work:

Mount, modify, and rewire existing control panels and backpanels in the field. Motor controls &

VFDs:

Install and connect pump controls—motor starters, contactors, relays, soft starters, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

Instrumentation:

Mount and terminate flow meters, pressure transmitters, and level sensors.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve broken conductors, blown fuses, failed relays, and grounding issues with minimal supervision.

Emergency response:

Operate a company service truck for local field travel; support overtime and short-notice calls for urgent customer repairs.

Safety first:

Work to NFPA 70E and OSHA standards. What you'll bring Electrical background: Industrial Electrician, Commercial Electrician, or Plant Maintenance Technician experience (purely residential experience is not a match).

Core knowledge:

Basic electrical theory, 3‑phase power, 480V, 24VDC control loops, and comfort reading electrical schematics.

Hands-on mindset:

Enjoy outdoor/on‑site physical work—bending conduit, pulling wire, and moving heavier components.

Flexibility:

Comfortable with overtime and participating in an on‑call emergency rotation.
