SUMMARY & CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Bring your high-voltage expertise to Bi-State Development and build a stable, long-term career maintaining crucial regional transit electrical infrastructure. Perform highly skilled technical work in the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electric traction power generation and distribution systems. Work extensively on traction power substations, catenary poles and foundations, messenger/contact wire, insulating devices, and power switching equipment. Respond to 24-hour service calls to diagnose and correct emergencies involving electrical systems. Operate specialized road and rail vehicles and handle activation/deactivation of traction power and auxiliary electrical systems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Considerable experience as a fully qualified electrician with railroad or transit traction power and catenary systems; ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with no air brake restrictions; and successful completion of electrical/mechanical aptitude tests and DOT physical.
