This role offers an exciting opportunity for skilled electricians who thrive on variety, challenge, and travel. As a Traveling Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in diverse environments, including commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure safety, compliance with electrical codes, and high-quality workmanship on every site you visit. This position is ideal for motivated professionals eager to expand their skills while exploring new locations and projects. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in various settings, ensuring adherence to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform wiring, conduit bending, panel upgrades, and system testing. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and industrial electrical components to support automation projects. Conduct routine maintenance on electrical equipment and systems to prevent failures and ensure optimal performance. Document all work performed through detailed reports and logs; communicate progress or issues clearly with project managers. Travel frequently between sites, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining safety protocols on construction sites or renovation projects. Skills Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial environments with a strong understanding of NEC regulations. Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams; familiar with construction site procedures. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high voltage (HV), low voltage (LV), and schematics interpretation. Proficient in using hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers; power tools including drills and saws; ohmmeters for testing circuits. Knowledge of renovation processes, frame carpentry basics, handyman skills, and construction practices. Ability to work independently in diverse environments while maintaining safety standards; experience with construction site safety protocols is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail; strong communication skills for clear documentation and team coordination.
