Position Overview:

As a Traveling Commercial Electrician , you will work on various commercial construction sites performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs. This position requires frequent travel with overnight or extended stays.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in commercial buildings Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and code specifications Perform conduit bending, panel terminations, switchgear, lighting, and device installations Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues on-site Test systems to ensure safe and proper function Work in compliance with NEC, local codes, and company safety protocols Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and hand/power tools Collaborate with project teams and maintain clean, accurate job documentation Travel for extended assignments (typically 2-3 weeks) Maintain a company vehicle and report any service issues

Qualifications:

Valid Journeyman's License (state-issued) 3+ years of commercial electrical experience Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on training Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and code compliance OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred Valid driver's license required Must supply and maintain personal hand tools Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, or computers to submit job documentation

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from ladders or scaffolding Prolonged standing, kneeling, and bending Must be able to identify color-coded wiring Willingness to travel long distances by plane and vehicle as needed Able to work flexible hours, weekends, or 12-hour shifts as project demands
