An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
Job Overview We are currently seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and be able to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components in a variety of construction environments. This position requires someone who can work independently, collaborate effectively with other trades and team members, and consistently perform high-quality work in accordance with the National Electrical Code and applicable safety standards. The Journeyman Electrician may also provide guidance and supervision to electrical apprentices. Responsibilities Install electrical wiring, panels, outlets, switches, lighting, fixtures, and other electrical components Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, specifications, and work orders Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment Test electrical systems using ohmmeters, multimeters, and other testing devices to verify proper operation and safety Safely and effectively operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, ladders, and other job-site equipment Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code, local regulations, project specifications, and company safety standards Follow appropriate procedures when working with low- and high-voltage systems Coordinate with customers, contractors, apprentices, and other team members to complete projects efficiently Provide instruction and oversight to apprentices when needed Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and required safety inspections Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe Requirements Current Journeyman Electrician license in North Dakota Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and the National Electrical Code Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents Proficiency with electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools Ability to safely troubleshoot low- and high-voltage electrical systems Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, climbing ladders, bending, and working in varying conditions Join our team and bring your skills to a supportive, fast-paced work environment where quality workmanship and safety are valued.
