Job Description:
The Nebraska Capitol Commission is currently seeking an Electrician to join their team. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of the electrical components in the Nebraska State Capitol Building. They will be working on motors, VFD's, switches, outlets, lighting and changing ballasts and light bulbs. They will be working with the maintenance staff and assisting them and learning the day to day operations of the building and equipment so that when on-call will be able to respond to after hour problems. They will also assist with seasonal snow removal. Job Duties:
Working on electrical issues. Other maintenance tasks such as changing filters, helping with events and assisting on plumbing issues. Working on the building automation system. All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification. Requirements /
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a Nebraska Journeyman Electrical license OR Electrical Contractor license or eligibility to become licensed in Nebraska.
Legal Requirements:
Per the Nebraska State Electrical Act (Neb. Rev. Statutes 81-2101-81-2143), a current Electrical Contractor license is required to obtain electrical permits, and a current Journeyman Electrical license is required to perform electrical installation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed electrical contractor, also familiar with multiple building trades such as plumbing, refrigeration and motor maintenance.
Other:
This position requires driving. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license. Regular and Reliable attendance is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Able to lift 50lbs and excellent knowledge of electrical systems. Good understanding of plumbing, air handlers, Geothermal equipment and experience with Building automation systems.
