Job Description:
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronicponents of industrial machinery and equipment; coordinates maintenance and repair of electrical power, lighting and transportation equipment by performing the following duties.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment including conveyors and programmable controllers. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment. Inspects wiring and fixtures for conformance to specifications or local electrical codes. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction. Replaces faulty electricalponents of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sending devices. Diagnoses and repairs or replace faulty electronicponents. Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors. Pushes buttons and presses keys on programmable controller to program automated machinery, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs. Analyses and resolves electrical problems or assists workers in solving electrical problems. Plans layout or wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumaticponents of machines and equipment. Performs related duties as required.
