Master Electrician - Utility Scale Solar Performance Personnel Services, LLC - 3.8 New Brunswick, NJ Job Details Full-time $60 - $80 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications Utility electrical systems Power distribution system installation OSHA 30 Driver's License Vehicle charging infrastructure Electromobility NABCEP Certification Commissioning phase involvement Renewable energy installations Master Electrician Field commissioning Energy storage systems Electrical systems commissioning Local electrical codes Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a licensed Master Electrician to lead electrical installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning on commercial and utility-scale solar projects ranging from 2 MW to 10 MW across New Jersey and New York. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise across photovoltaic systems, battery energy storage (BESS), solar roof products, and EV charging infrastructure — and holds the appropriate top-tier electrical license in NJ or NY. This is a direct-hire position offering long-term project continuity, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work on some of the most technically demanding renewable energy installations in the region. Key Responsibilities Lead and perform electrical installations on commercial utility-scale solar arrays (2 MW-10 MW), including DC and AC collection systems, inverters, combiner boxes, transformers, and switchgear Install, terminate, and commission battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar roof products, and EV charging infrastructure to manufacturer specifications Interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and project specifications; ensure all work complies with current NEC, state amendments, and AHJ requirements Pull permits and serve as the licensed qualifier on projects where required by jurisdiction Supervise and mentor journeymen, apprentices, and field crews; enforce quality and safety standards on every site Perform terminations, testing (continuity, insulation resistance, torque verification), and support commissioning and energization Coordinate with GCs, EPC partners, AHJs, and utility representatives on inspections, interconnection, and project closeout Identify and resolve field deficiencies proactively to protect schedule and quality Required Qualifications One of the following active, valid licenses: ◦ New Jersey Electrical Contractor License (NJ Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors — NJ's highest electrical credential, equivalent to a master license), OR ◦ New York Master Electrician License issued by the applicable municipality (NYC DOB, Buffalo, Syracuse, or Rochester licensing authority for the project jurisdiction) Demonstrated experience on commercial utility-scale solar projects in the 2 MW-10 MW range Hands-on experience installing and commissioning leading BESS and EV charging platforms Thorough working knowledge of current NEC and applicable state/local code amendments OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain prior to mobilization) Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between project sites in NJ/NY Preferred Qualifications Manufacturer certification or training on battery storage, solar roof, and/or EV charging products Experience with medium-voltage systems and utility interconnection
NABCEP PV
