Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across industrial and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts. Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and electrical safety procedures. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on industrial equipment and infrastructure. Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low-voltage circuits. Conduct routine maintenance on existing electrical systems, including renovation projects and construction site installations. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including incident reports, inspection logs, and compliance records. Requirements Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification with proven experience in industrial and commercial electrical work. Extensive hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, and troubleshooting complex electrical issues. Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, local electrical codes, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation. Proficiency with electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable. Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints accurately for installation or repair projects. Experience working on construction sites, renovation projects, or similar environments with a focus on safety procedures. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, power drills, conduit benders, and other essential electrical equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot diverse electrical systems efficiently. Knowledge of low voltage wiring systems for commercial applications is a plus.
