Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician I to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for ensuring all electrical systems, machinery, and equipment are maintained in safe working condition to support uninterrupted production operations. The Electrician I performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment installations, and assists with PLC programming under management direction. This role supports manufacturing operations by maintaining machinery used in the extrusion and processing of thermoplastic materials into sheets, plates, pipes, rods, fibers, and other products. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and capable of working in a fast-paced industrial environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components to ensure safe and efficient operation. Plan, install, and repair wiring for electrical fixtures, motors, controls, and production equipment. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical circuits, control panels, fixtures, motors, and equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Perform systematic electrical and electronic troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment issues. Conduct preventive maintenance and major repairs on production machinery and facility equipment. Assist with equipment installations, machine upgrades, and facility improvement projects. Support maintenance activities including machine repairs, fabrication, painting, cleaning, and construction of walkways or work areas. Order replacement parts and maintenance supplies as needed. Assist in evaluating new equipment and machinery purchases. Recommend and implement modifications consistent with electrical codes and safety requirements. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and maintenance needs to management promptly. Work with PLC-controlled equipment and assist with PLC programming under management direction. Serve as a backup to the Maintenance Supervisor when needed. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Experience working on electrical systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment. General maintenance experience. Experience wiring electrical components and running conduit. Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment. Preferred Experience with PLC programming. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification. Previous maintenance experience in plastics, textile, or related manufacturing environments. Physical Requirements Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, squat, climb stairs and ladders, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday. Ability to safely operate an automatic forklift.
