Job Description

The Opportunity InCharge Energy is seeking an Electrical Technician IV to support the service needs of its customers. The licensed Journeyman Electrician will work at the local branch InCharge Office, reporting to the Service Manager. Key aspects of the work include running conduit, wiring, installation, service, commissioning and regularly scheduled maintenance for electrical infrastructure, EV charging devices, solar and battery devices. The role requires significant regional travel with a focus on ensuring a timely and customer-centered turnkey delivery experience. Key objectives include maintaining safety standards and timely completion of high-quality field installation work, EVCS Commissioning and field support. What You'll Do Electric/Infrastructure Duties Supervise and lead electrical crews (technicians and apprentices); assign work and verify quality Pull permits, prepare and sign plans, and liaise with inspectors and local authorities having jurisdiction Design, estimate, and oversee installations for service upgrades, lighting systems, distribution panels, and controls
Panel Work:
Installing breakers, labeling circuits, and understanding load balancing greater than 1200 amps Perform infield installation of civil and electrical infrastructure including running conduit and wire, trenching and associated civil work, and other in field activities Wiring buildings and electrical systems (commercial, industrial), installing lighting, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and panels, setting up electrical equipment, transformers, and generators Troubleshooting electrical issues, repairing or replacing faulty wiring, fixtures, or equipment, performing inspections and preventive maintenance Retrofitting older systems to meet current standards, upgrading panels or service capacity, installing energy-efficient systems (LED lighting) Assist in the coordination of third-party vendors for installations Specialty Equipment Maintenance and Service Execute advanced troubleshooting and repairs as well as perform interoperability testing and advanced diagnostics to validate system functionality and identify performance issues on AC and DC charging systems, battery systems and Solar Installations, including complex fault isolation Perform and lead crews performing preventative maintenance by inspecting, testing, and maintaining EV charging systems as well as electrical infrastructure to ensure performance and uptime Installation, Commissioning, service and support for all EV Charging systems, AC and DC for which the technician is certified Perform bolt-downs and infrastructure-related field work to support site installations and upgrades Competence in performing civil and construction work Installation, Commissioning, service and support for Solar and battery systems and infrastructure for which the technician is certified Repair maintain, troubleshoot, and service electrical charging infrastructure using skills and tools that range from computer diagnostics to basic electrical tools Measure charging infrastructure performance using appropriate tools and techniques Workflow, Documentation and Training Create and maintain comprehensive project, Work Order and Job documentation in Procore, Salesforce and other documentation systems Follow all safety standards, site requirements, and company procedures Shadow and assist with lower tier technicians to share knowledge, troubleshooting techniques, electrical safety and workflows and specialty equipment as well as best practices in customer service delivery Participate in training programs to build technical competency and advance within the technician career path Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete work efficiently and effectively Shadow and assist with lower tier technicians to share knowledge, troubleshooting techniques, electrical safety and workflows and specialty equipment as well as best practices in customer service delivery Represent the company at client locations with the highest standards of professional conduct Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency Serve as the primary technical escalation point for field technicians, contractors, and internal teams, resolving the most complex service issues Provide technical support and subject matter expertise across internal functions, including operations, engineering, and service delivery Perform other related duties as assigned Your Experience and Capabilities Valid electrician certification/Journeyman-level license and proof of eligibility to be contractor of record as required 5-10 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings Advance knowledge of NEC, local codes, and permit process Ability to read blueprints, single-line diagrams, and load calculations Associate's degree or higher in an applicable technical field is desirable Solar PV Installer NABCEP or EVSE Installer Certification or Fire Alarm Tech NICET preferred Familiarity with commercial controls, EV Charging, and energy-management systems is a plus ASE or other applicable certifications are desirable Commercial Driver's license or ability to obtain is highly desirable ECAP certification (internal requirement) or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire EVITP Certification or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire Adaptable to the changing dynamics of start-up business strategy Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent, and able to operate independently with limited supervision (completing assigned work accurately and in a timely manner) Proficiency with Procore, or equivalent software a plus Ability to Travel 50% - 75% •Equivalent is 8,000 hours of hands-on electrical construction experience
