Installs, maintains and repairs building lighting and power distribution, emergency generators, communication systems, and other electrical systems. Inspects circuits and wiring for specified shielding and grounding and repairs or rewires system according to building codes and safety regulations. Plans layout and wires new installations. Plans layout and installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment. Repairs and replaces sinks, toilets, faucets and flush-o-meters. May repair and maintain elevators.

Minimum QualificationsNon-competitive:

four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

Preferred Qualifications:

Work experience in electrical systems involving the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. Additional CommentsThis is a Teamsters position. ADDITIONAL PAY INFORMATION

The salary range for this position includes all applicable annual components of pay which are:

Base Pay:

$29.51 hiring rate up to $31.95 job rate

Recruitment & Retention Pay:

$3.37.
