Job Summary:
The Shop Electrician is responsible for assembling, wiring, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing electrical systems and components for overhead cranes and related lifting equipment in a shop environment. This role works from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings to build, modify, and test equipment while ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes, quality standards, and company safety policies.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform documented safety inspections of specific types of equipment in keeping with OSHA guidelines. Troubleshooting, repairing, building, installing, and modifying overhead crane systems. This is primarily a plant-based assignment. Able to wire cranes and read blueprints, wiring new cranes while troubleshooting build issues. Work independently, or as part of a crew, to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems with equipment in heavy industrial manufacturing facilities if needed (limited role). Identify needed parts, repair procedures, communicate with the customer, interface with our engineering department, and perform the build. Responsible for documentation of hours, services performed, writing service acknowledgements, and working with computers. Motor control experience on systems with AC or DC power is necessary.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED At least 3 years in an industrial environment or similar Military Experience. Skills and experience in welding, electrical and mechanical maintenance Experience as an ironworker, millwright or facilities maintenance is preferred Team approach to problem solving Computer literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Must be eligible to work and free of any non-competition agreements. Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
