This is a full-time position for a dependable electrician who can read commercial electrical drawings, work independently, and complete installations safely and professionally. Our projects are primarily commercial and are located throughout Westchester County, Putnam County, Fairfield County, Connecticut, and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret commercial electrical blueprints, specifications, panel schedules, and one-line diagrams Bend and install EMT, rigid conduit, and PVC conduit Install MC cable, branch circuits, feeders, panels, transformers, disconnects, lighting, and lighting-control systems Perform commercial renovations, tenant fit-outs, service work, and new installations Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment Prepare material lists and plan conduit and wiring installations Work independently and supervise helpers or apprentices when required Coordinate professionally with project managers, general contractors, customers, and inspectors Follow National Electrical Code requirements and company safety procedures Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and company vehicles
Required Qualifications:
At least five years of commercial electrical experience Strong ability to read and work from electrical plans Strong conduit-bending and layout skills Experience installing commercial panels, transformers, feeders, lighting, and controls Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems independently Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Reliable transportation Basic electrical hand tools Ability to lift materials and perform normal electrical construction work
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 30 certification Experience supervising helpers or apprentices Experience with generators, emergency systems, fire alarm, CAT6, low-voltage systems, and lighting controls Ability to operate lifts and commercial job-site equipment
Compensation:
$35.00-$50.00 per hour, depending on commercial experience, qualifications, productivity, and ability to work independently.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be available.
