Job Description

Job Title:
Electrician Job Description This role focuses on commercial electrical work, including bending and installing conduit, pulling wire, wiring and installing commercial fixtures, and troubleshooting electrical systems on clean, high-profile retail and mixed-use job sites. You will interpret and work from blueprints, install finish fixtures such as lighting, outlets, and high hats, and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards on highly regulated commercial projects. Responsibilities Bend and install electrical conduit, including EMT, for commercial applications. Pull electrical wire and cables, including BX and MC cable, through conduit and open ceiling systems. Wire and install commercial electrical fixtures, including high hats, outlets, and various lighting fixtures. Install and complete finish electrical work for commercial and retail spaces, ensuring a clean and professional appearance. Read and interpret electrical blueprints and drawings to plan and execute installations accurately. Install and work with switchgear and associated electrical components as required. Troubleshoot electrical systems, circuits, and fixtures to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. Work independently on assigned tasks while closely following directions and project specifications. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times on high-profile job sites. Use appropriate hand tools and cordless drills to complete conduit work and fixture installation. Adhere to all OSHA 30 safety requirements and wear required PPE at all times on site. Collaborate with other electricians and trades on site to complete work within project timelines. Support commercial retail projects across multiple sites, including installation of fixtures in open concept ceilings. Demonstrate professionalism with clients, site personnel, and team members while representing the company on regulated commercial job sites. Essential Skills Proven experience as a commercial electrician with strong conduit bending skills. Hands-on experience bending pipe and conduit for commercial installations. Proficiency in pulling electrical wire and working with BX and MC cable. Ability to wire and install commercial fixtures, including lighting, high hats, and outlets. Experience reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and construction drawings. Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving electrical issues in the field. Demonstrated retail electrical experience on commercial job sites. Ability to work independently while strictly following directions and project requirements. Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work space on high-profile projects. Professional demeanor and ability to represent the company well on client sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications Current OSHA 30 certification, with the ability to comply with site safety requirements at all times. Previous experience on highly regulated commercial and retail job sites. Ownership of a complete set of personal hand tools appropriate for commercial electrical work. Ability to safely and effectively use cordless drills and related power tools. Experience installing finish commercial fixtures in open concept ceilings. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions precisely. Ability to work as part of a mechanic/junior pair or in a team of mechanics on site. Work Environment You work on highly regulated commercial and retail job sites across locations such as Riverhead and New Hyde Park. Assignments may start as short-term projects, including two-week finish fixture installations, with the potential to transition to additional sites afterward. The environment requires OSHA 30 compliance at all times, strict adherence to PPE requirements, and consistent maintenance of a clean, organized work area. You perform work in open concept ceilings using hand tools and cordless drills, installing conduit, pulling wire, and setting finish fixtures in clean, high-profile mixed-use and retail buildings. The atmosphere is professional and safety-focused, with expectations that you follow directions closely, maintain a neat appearance of the work area, and collaborate effectively with other electricians and site personnel. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverhead, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
