An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
Electrician, Construction O'Connell Electric Company, Inc., in partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W), is looking for a hard-working and well-qualified Electrician. This position is a union position and will be part of the I.B.E.W. The rate of pay and benefits offered are outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the I.B.E.W. Qualifications:
Journeyman-level electrical experience or licensure is required. Extensive firsthand experience with high, medium, and low-voltage systems, ensuring the safe and reliable performance of electrical equipment across a variety of client sites. 12,000 hours of commercial electrical experience Experience with installing and terminating Conduit systems (EMT, RMC, PVC), Power distribution equipment, Motor control centers (MCCs), Switchgear and panelboards, Transformers and generators. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform quality installations. Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Physical ability to climb ladders, work in field conditions, stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 lbs. Valid driver's license is required. Ability to travel to project sites and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends when required.
