In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems that keep our manufacturing operation running smoothly and efficiently. You'll work on a wide range of equipment, from press machines and automated production lines to facility electrical systems and material handling equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on press-related machinery. Perform mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic maintenance on a variety of equipment. Install and repair electrical wiring and systems. Run conduit and perform wiring based on blueprints and schematics. Troubleshoot PLCs—Allen Bradley Studio 5000 is required; Siemens Step 7 and Beckhoff are a plus. Maintain hydraulic systems including pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and accumulators. Repair mechanical components such as clutches, brakes, gear trains, couplings, bearings, splines, and more. Conduct simple fabrications such as brackets, gussets, and platforms. Install circuit breakers and other electrical components, ensuring proper connections. Test and inspect systems to confirm proper operation and identify necessary repairs. Replace bearings, sprockets, chains, and troubleshoot pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, sensors, valves, pumps, conveyors, etc. Perform machine alignments and routine adjustments. Lead and train junior team members on electrical systems and best practices. Help develop preventive maintenance (PM) procedures and assist with team training. Promote and maintain safety, productivity, and quality standards. Support 5S initiatives to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Take a proactive role in continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts. Follow all Ohio Gratings and OSHA safety protocols and attend required safety training. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES
Minimum 5 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience. Experience maintaining and troubleshooting press machinery is strongly preferred. Solid knowledge of electrical maintenance, including 480V and 3-phase motors. Must be able to identify color-coded wiring. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in physically demanding environments (climbing, bending, kneeling, etc.). Proficient in pulling wires/cables through conduits and using a wide range of tools and diagnostic equipment. Strong understanding of electrical systems, networking, and control systems. Able to read ladder logic and trace inputs/outputs in PLC systems. Skilled at reading and interpreting electrical/electronic schematics. Welding experience is a plus.
