Journeyman Electrician

Position Summary The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and/or residential settings. This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to work independently, and leadership skills to support apprentices and job site productivity. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with NEC and local codes Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications Install conduit (EMT, PVC, rigid), wire, panels, lighting, and equipment Perform service work, troubleshooting, and system diagnostics Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades Maintain clean and organized job sites Complete required documentation (time sheets, job logs, material usage) Mentor and supervise apprentice electricians as assigned Qualifications Valid Journeyman Electrician License (state-specific) 4+ years of electrical experience preferred Strong knowledge of NEC and local building codes Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings Experience with commercial and/or industrial projects preferred Strong troubleshooting skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Skills & Competencies High attention to detail Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to work independently and as part of a team Time management and productivity focused Clear communication skills Commitment to safety Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs Work at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces Stand, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods Work in varying weather conditions (if applicable) Compensation & Benefits (Customize for your company) Competitive hourly wage (based on experience) Overtime opportunities Health insurance Retirement plan Paid time off Continuing education / license reimbursement
