Responsibilities include:
Diagnose and repair electrical systems and equipment based on schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment used in power generation. Apply knowledge of electrical principles to maintain machines and tools, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoot electrical issues in motors, control systems, switchgear, and other critical plant equipment. Test, calibrate, and maintain protection relays, transformers, and other high-voltage apparatus. Monitor and maintain grounding and lightning protection systems. Assist with commissioning of new electrical equipment or systems during outages or upgrades. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, calibrations, and preventive maintenance activities. Respond to emergency situations and unscheduled outages, troubleshooting and restoring functionality as quickly as possible. Collaborate with engineering, mechanical maintenance, and operations staff to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. Test, program, and repair Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Perform testing and repair on 480V and 4160V breakers. Conduct routine maintenance on shop equipment. Operate forklifts, man lifts, and other industrial equipment when required. Job Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field; equivalent military or industrial experience may be considered. Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial or power plant electrical experience preferred. Strong understanding of electrical theory, power distribution systems, and motor control. Experience working with high-voltage systems (up to 13.8kV), breakers, transformers, and switchgear. Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), including reading ladder logic and basic programming. Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and soft starters, including configuration and troubleshooting. Proficiency with electrical test instruments such as multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, and circuit tracers. Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs. Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical and control systems. Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a safety-critical environment. Good verbal and written communication skills for documentation, reporting, and coordination with operations staff. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing ladders, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Willingness to work on-call, overtime, and during plant outages or emergency conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
