Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and panels in residential properties. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and repairs. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify issues efficiently. Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and safety procedures. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on construction sites or during renovation projects. Troubleshoot complex electrical systems including low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial electrical components when necessary. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installations with precision and safety in mind. Collaborate with contractors, builders, or homeowners to plan electrical layouts during new construction or renovation projects. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and materials used for each project. Qualifications Proven experience as a residential electrician with knowledge of industrial and commercial electrical systems preferred. Strong understanding of electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting techniques, and schematics reading. Familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance standards and local electrical codes is essential. Experience working with high-voltage electrical wiring and industrial electrical systems is a plus. Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret electrical schematics confidently. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment. Construction site experience including framing carpentry or handyman skills is advantageous. Knowledge of low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and renovation processes enhances your versatility.
