Job Description

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repair in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local regulations. This position involves designing, building and energizing solar and generator systems on residential and commercial projects. Read blueprints, technical diagrams and equipment manuals Review and sign electrical design documentation for permitting and construction purposes Planning, initiating, and tracking labor and materials for electrical projects Install electrical equipment, support structures, conduit and wiring using hand tools and power tools Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code Direct and train assigned employees to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
Competencies Technical Skills Electrical Knowledge:
Understanding of installation & maintenance of electrical systems, wiring, circuits, and components.
Solar Panel Installation:
Familiarity with the tools and techniques used to install solar panels and electrical components.
Electrical Code Compliance :
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC).
System Design and Layout:
Ability to assist in the design and layout of solar power systems.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills Critical Thinking:
Ability to analyze and solve problems that arise during installation and maintenance. Attention to
Detail :
Precision in following instructions and ensuring proper connections and installations.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance :
Skills in identifying and resolving issues in electrical and solar panel systems. Learning and Adaptability Willingness to

Ability to adjust to new tools, procedures, and industry developments.

Work effectively with electricians, crew members, and other team members to identify, discuss, and resolve on-site challenges, ensuring smooth project progression. Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to understand their needs, explain technical details in accessible terms, and address questions or concerns promptly and courteously.
Organizational Skills Record Keeping :
Maintaining accurate records of installations, maintenance, and inspections. Attention to

Report all job details verbally to one person for documentation in AirTable, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail, and upload clear and accurate picture documentation to SiteCapture, the online portal, to provide proof of job completion for the Energy Trust of Oregon.

ensure the proper materials are available for the project, and maintaining jobsite and vehicle organization. Majority of work setting will be outside, exposed to a variety of weather conditions Majority of the projects will be performed on roofs of varying heights and pitch Exposure to electrical currents and live electrical wires Physical demands Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts Able to stand for long periods, crawl in tight spaces, kneel, squat, climb ladders, walk on roofs Able to frequently lift and carry up to 35-50lbs, occasionally lift and carry up to 85lbs Travel required Travel to job location, sometimes multiple in a day Occasional overnight stay for out-of town jobs Required education and experience Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician Certification/Licensing requirements Must hold and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license Must be insurable by our insurance company Must hold and maintain Oregon Electrician's license Work authorization/security clearance requirements Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
