Job Description

Overview We are seeking a Electrical / Mechanical Technician for assignment in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the preventive and corrective maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant, and related equipment, on an assigned shift. Hours are Monday
  • Friday, 7:00am
  • 3:30pm Responsibilities
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment relating to wastewater treatment
  • Lubricating equipment, assessing gear boxes and drives for malfunctions
  • Taking and recording preventative maintenance measurements
  • Replacing packing or mechanical seals for various pumps or valves
  • Using the SCADA system to identify faults with equipment throughout the plant
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on processing equipment, HVAC systems and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • Rebuilding or replacing motors, pumps, gearboxes and belt drives
  • Replacing packing or mechanical seals for various pumps or valves
  • Clean out pipes and perform other plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as required
  • Light metal fabrication including cutting, grinding and welding for repairs
  • Install and set up new or replacement equipment
  • Analyze equipment failures to determine cause and to prevent recurrences
  • Observes and reports abnormalities to supervisor
  • Maintain open communication with operations regarding equipment issues
  • Record all tasks in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Perform other duties as required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid Drivers License
  • A general understanding of VFD's and 480V 3 phase power sourcing and troubleshooting is highly preferred
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic powered systems is highly preferred
