An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
Commercial/Industrial Electrician Summit Service Solutions exists to put skilled electricians on the work that actually lasts—commercial builds, renovations, and manufacturing floors across Pennsylvania. This role is how we keep projects on schedule and plants running: you install, commission, and troubleshoot power so crews, clients, and production don't wait. If you take pride in clean conduit, code-compliant terminations, and getting equipment live the first time, this is the work. Performance Objectives Install EMT, rigid, IMC, and flex; bend accurate offsets and kicks so conduit runs match prints and pass inspection on the first walk-through. Pull, terminate, and land feeders and branch circuits; energize panels, disconnects, transformers, MCCs, and switchgear without rework. Mount and wire lighting, devices, motors, VFDs, and control enclosures; commission production equipment so downtime stays near zero. Read blueprints, one-lines, and schematics; layout work and coordinate with other trades so the electrical path never becomes the bottleneck. Test, troubleshoot, and repair circuits and controls using meters and testers; verify NEC, OSHA, and LOTO compliance before you leave the area. Keep the work area clean, PPE on, and production moving—especially in high-volume manufacturing (plastics, packaging, food, pharma). Environment & Resources Full-time, first-shift assignments on long-term commercial construction and industrial sites (Lancaster, Carlisle, Reading, Lebanon County and nearby). You report through Summit's field coordinators to the GC or plant maintenance lead. You bring standard hand tools and required PPE; sites supply benders, testers, and material. Pay $25-$35/hour based on demonstrated skill. Drug-free workplace. We reserve our top pay rates of $33-$35/hr for candidates who hold a current Journeyman Electrician license. Essential Qualifications 5+ years commercial electrical construction or 6+ years industrial/manufacturing electrical work (or equivalent mix). NEC/OSHA
(Journeyman/Master license a plus). Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, lift up to 75 lbs, and your own hand tools plus OSHA-compliant PPE.
