An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
Position Overview We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and safety-focused Electrician with a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial electrical work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems while ensuring full compliance with safety standards and electrical codes. This position is structured as an independent contractor role, and compensation will be issued via 1099. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and required repairs. Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic tools. Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations. Install and maintain lighting systems, control panels, circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical components. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and job completion details. Adhere to company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Communicate professionally with clients, project managers, and team members as needed. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Electrician. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and drawings. Experience using electrical testing tools and equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments (heights, confined spaces, outdoors). Excellent attention to detail and strong commitment to safety. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience in commercial and/or industrial projects.
