Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Residential Remodeling Electrician to join our premier home renovation team. Unlike standard new-construction electrical work, this role requires a professional who excels at diagnosing existing systems, retrofitting modern wiring into older homes, and executing high-end lighting and power designs. You will work closely with project managers, carpenters, and homeowners to safely transform living spaces while maintaining the architectural integrity of the home.
Key Responsibilities System Evaluation & Troubleshooting:
Inspect existing residential electrical systems, identify code violations or safety hazards, and determine the best path for upgrades or tie-ins.
Installation & Retrofitting:
Layout and install electrical wiring, conduits, fixtures, smart home systems, dedicated circuits, and main panel upgrades in existing structural frameworks.
Blueprint & Design Interpretation:
Read and interpret architectural blueprints, remodeling layouts, and lighting designs to execute precise installations.
Damage Mitigation:
Expertly fish wires through finished walls, ceilings, and tight crawlspaces/attics with minimal disruption to drywall and historical plaster.
Collaboration:
Coordinate closely with general contractors, carpenters, and plumbers to ensure proper project sequencing and avoid structural conflicts.
Code Compliance:
Ensure all electrical work strictly adheres to the National Electrical Code (NEC) as well as state and local building regulations; prepare for and pass all municipal inspections.
Client Relations:
Maintain a clean, organized, and respectful job site while communicating professionally with homeowners regarding project progress or necessary system updates.
Required Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of residential electrical experience, with a heavy emphasis on remodeling, historical retrofits, or service work (rather than strictly new construction).
Technical Proficiency:
Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), load calculations, panel configurations, and modern smart-home/LED lighting integrations.
Problem-Solving:
Strong critical thinking skills to safely solve the unexpected challenges common in older home infrastructure.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work comfortably in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces).
Clean Background:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check. Preferred Attributes Experience installing high-end custom lighting (e.g., cove lighting, under-cabinet LEDs, art lighting). A meticulous eye for detail and a clean cleanup habit at the end of every workday.
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Benefits:
401(k) Health insurance Paid time off
Work Location:
In person
