Friday SUMMARY:
To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
BENEFITS TO STUDENTS
Electricians are essential for building maintenance and help to establish a positive school climate and appearance. They provide extremely important support services to administrators and other staff members to assure that the facility provides a clean and safe environment for implementing the instructional program. This service directly benefits students by assuring that the district is providing facilities that are safe, functional, comfortable, aesthetically appealing and one in which the students can be proud to attend.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Assumes primary responsibility for the safe condition of electric elements in the facilities owned or operated by the district. Instructs custodians and maintenance workers on proper methods of procedure and proper use of tools in electrical repair work. Accurately orders and accounts for material and labor relative to assignments. Maintains all safety and code requirements of the State, local and Board of Ed. Performs general maintenance work inside and outside the physical plant as requested. Performs district wide grounds maintenance work such as snow shoveling, plowing, salting, and maintenance exterior electrical systems. Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase, and maintains the inventory of district-owned hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials and supplies. Assists other maintenance personnel in installation and maintenance of facilities equipment and infrastructure, particularly in electrical related skill activity. Performs all other duties, which may be temporarily assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
REQUIRED PAPERWORK
In order to begin employment in any PA public school, all employees are required to complete mandatory paperwork. Background employment clearances must be completed within the last year to be valid and include: PA State Police Clearance (Act 34) Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) FBI Fingerprints (Act 114) IndentoGo Some additional paperwork includes Arrest/Conviction Report form, PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168), physician's health form and recently completed TB test.
