SunCoast began as a solar field-services company focused on installation support, detach & reset, maintenance, troubleshooting, and other mechanical solar services. As we continue to grow throughout the Carolinas, our goal is to expand into a full-service solar and energy operations company capable of supporting residential, commercial, and contractor-led projects from the field level through project completion. We are looking for a North Carolina licensed electrician / qualifying individual who wants to be more than an employee. We are looking for someone who wants to help build a division, develop systems, win work, lead people, and participate in the financial growth that comes with it. The Opportunity This position would initially serve as SunCoast's electrical lead and qualifying individual while helping establish and grow our electrical operations. This is an opportunity for the right person to have meaningful influence over how the electrical side of SunCoast is built. You would work directly with company ownership to: Establish and develop SunCoast's electrical service capabilities Help develop electrical installation, service, and maintenance offerings Supervise and direct electrical work performed under the company's license Maintain high standards for electrical safety, quality, and code compliance Assist with estimating, proposals, project planning, and job costing Develop electrical SOPs, processes, and quality-control procedures Help recruit, train, and lead electrical technicians and crews Coordinate electrical scopes with SunCoast's existing solar installation and mechanical teams Work with AHJs, inspectors, suppliers, general contractors, solar companies, and project partners Assist with permitting and inspection processes Review electrical plans, scopes, material requirements, and project specifications Provide field leadership and troubleshooting support Help identify opportunities for additional electrical and solar work Build relationships with contractors, developers, property owners, and other potential clients Help establish pricing, labor standards, and production expectations for the electrical division Participate in strategic decisions regarding the growth of the company Profit Sharing This position includes a profit-sharing opportunity. We want the person responsible for helping build and grow this division to participate in the results of that growth. In addition to a competitive base compensation package, the position will include a performance-based profit-sharing structure tied to the profitability and growth of the electrical division. For the right long-term candidate, there is also potential to develop the position into a leadership/partner-level role as SunCoast continues to scale. What We're Looking For Active North Carolina electrical contractor license/qualification appropriate for the role Strong knowledge of electrical systems, NEC requirements, and electrical safety Ability and willingness to supervise and direct electrical contracting operations Proven field experience Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to read electrical plans and project specifications Experience managing crews, subcontractors, or field personnel is highly preferred Solar/PV experience is a major plus Commercial electrical experience is a major plus Experience with estimating, project management, or electrical business operations is highly valued Strong communication and leadership skills Entrepreneurial mindset Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with ownership Desire to build something rather than simply clock in and clock out The Person We're Looking For We're not necessarily looking for the person with the longest résumé. We're looking for someone who sees the opportunity. Someone who can walk onto a jobsite, understand the electrical scope, lead a crew, solve a problem, communicate with a GC, help estimate the next project, and then sit down with ownership and figure out how to make the operation better. Someone who wants their knowledge and experience to translate into ownership-level influence and financial upside. SunCoast is still in a growth stage, which means the right person will have an opportunity to help shape the systems, culture, team, pricing, processes, and direction of the electrical division from the ground up.
