$34-36 per hour PLUS $100 daily per diem
Job Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician-Electrical at Solution Services Inc. is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment and machinery to ensure optimal production operations. This role involves working with various mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment. The technician will perform preventative maintenance, identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, and contribute to process improvements to maximize efficiency and safety. Shifts are 12-hr shifts and may sometimes involve night shift work as well. Key Responsibilities Electrical Preventative Maintenance Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on industrial electrical systems, including power distribution panels, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, VFDs, and control circuits. Inspect and test electrical components such as contactors, relays, overloads, breakers, disconnects, and sensors. Conduct thermal imaging, voltage testing, and amperage readings to identify potential electrical failures. Assist in developing and improving preventative maintenance plans to reduce electrical-related downtime and extend equipment life. Electrical Troubleshooting & Repair Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in production equipment, including 480V and lower voltage systems. Troubleshoot motors (single- and three-phase), motor starters, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and industrial control wiring. Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical manuals. Repair or replace defective electrical components such as motors, sensors, switches, encoders, control wiring, power supplies, and circuit protection devices. Support PLC troubleshooting by identifying input/output faults and coordinating with controls personnel as needed. Collaborate with production staff to safely isolate and restore equipment during electrical repairs. Equipment Installation and Upgrades Assist in the installation, calibration, and alignment of new machinery and equipment. Support the engineering team in modifying or upgrading existing equipment to improve performance and safety. Ensure that all equipment installations comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. Conduct safety inspections of equipment and facilities, reporting any hazards or potential risks. Participate in safety training and contribute to the development of safety guidelines for the maintenance department.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or electrical systems preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with an electrical emphasis, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Certifications:
Certifications in areas such as Industrial Maintenance, HVAC, Welding, or Electrical Systems are highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong knowledge of electrical systems. Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and other automated control systems. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and climbing. Comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications, such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP).
Work Environment:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician will work in a manufacturing or industrial setting, which may include exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures. The role may require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support continuous production operations. The technician may be required to work overtime, particularly during peak production periods or emergency repairs.
