An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
Approximately 6 Months Position Summary LaborWorx is seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians for a commercial/industrial project expected to last approximately six (6) months. We are looking for dependable, safety-minded electricians with strong commercial or industrial experience who can work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship. A Journeyman Electrician license is preferred but not required. Candidates with equivalent field experience and the ability to demonstrate strong electrical knowledge are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial and industrial electrical systems. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams. Install conduit (EMT, Rigid, IMC, and PVC), cable trays, and supports. Pull, terminate, and test electrical wiring and cables. Install panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, receptacles, and electrical equipment. Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs as needed. Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), project specifications, and safety standards. Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all company and job site safety policies. Work effectively with project supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines. Qualifications 5+ years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience. Journeyman Electrician license preferred but not required. Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Ability to read blueprints, layouts, and electrical schematics. Experience bending and installing conduit. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment. Must possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Reliable transportation to and from the job site. Requirements Must provide your own basic electrical hand tools. Must provide your own required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, gloves, and high-visibility vest as required by the job site. Must successfully complete a written electrical aptitude/knowledge assessment prior to placement. Must be able to pass any required pre-employment screenings. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
