Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across our facility. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical equipment, supporting our ongoing projects and operational needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, renovation projects, and ongoing maintenance tasks, all while utilizing your technical skills to keep operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage wiring in industrial settings Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes and control systems Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) standards to ensure all work complies with safety regulations Collaborate with construction teams on site to perform renovation tasks, framing carpentry, and general maintenance person duties as needed Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports and repair logs Assist in the setup of electrical systems for new construction or renovation projects on commercial or industrial sites
Qualifications Safety:
Must have an Industrial background in which safety and working safely are of the utmost importance. Lock-out/Tag-out experience is a must. Responsible for installation, repair and preventive/predictive maintenance of electromechanical systems within a large industrial manufacturing environment. Ability to use and perform work with standard Electrician hand tools and power tools. Experience using various ladders, manlift, scissor lift, and forklift equipment. Must have a good understanding of AC and DC circuitry, and use of a Volt-Ohm meter in respect to troubleshooting and finding the root cause of breakdowns. Must have a good understanding and experience with single and 3-Phase systems of various voltages up to 480 volts. Includes wye and delta, 4-wire and 5-wire systems. Ability to determine circuit requirements for equipment. These include the type and gauge of wire, ampere rating of safety switches, circuit protection and selection on the use of fuses or circuit breakers, size of conduit, type of and voltage rating of devices for end use. Must have a good understanding of the NFPA 70 National Electrical code and the ability to navigate the code book to find answers to electrical issues which may arise. Must have a good understanding of industrial power distribution and transformers as used in a manufacturing setting. Must understand how to ascertain voltage requirements for machinery and wire equipment correctly. Must understand Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) application, function, troubleshooting, programming and wiring. Must understand Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and their associated I/O cards and analog circuits which include 0-10v, and 4-20ma. The ability to troubleshoot with Volt-Ohm meter is essential. PLC and HMI programming is a major plus. Understanding mechanical systems to include hydraulics, pneumatics, and other related electromechanical systems and equipment. Ability to layout, develop parts lists, and execute installation of conduit and boxes. Includes bending rigid and EMT conduit, and installation of PVC conduit. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a High School diploma/GED and some continuing education. 5 years Journeyman level Maintenance Electrician Experience.
Big plus:
Industrial electrical trade school and some certificated programs.
Big Plus:
Technical/AS degree with Journeyman Electrician level experience. Ability to respond to after-hours emergency call-ins occasionally. Must work well with other Craftsmen and have a team-oriented mindset. Must be motivated and work independently, with minimum supervision. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and able to climb ladders up to 12ft. Must be drug free and pass pre-employment drug testing.
