Job Description

Summary of Role:
The Staff Electrician performs panel assembly and wiring with additional responsibilities for field installation support, I/O checkout, and circuit debugging, requiring advanced technical knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform panel assembly and wiring according to schematics and specifications Install labels and tags on panels and components Read and understand electrical schematics Maintain shop and jobsite cleanliness and organization Support the Project Management team, Engineering staff, and Principal Electricians as needed Perform functional circuit debug and checkout Identify and redline errors in schematics Provide installation wiring support as required Assist with I/O checkout upon completion of field wiring
Skills & Proficiencies:
Advanced electrical wiring techniques for control panels Proficient at reading and interpreting electrical schematics Circuit debugging and troubleshooting Field installation support and I/O checkout Knowledge of electrical codes and standards Technical problem-solving Attention to detail Documentation and reporting Safety awareness Organization and cleanliness Teamwork and communication
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training or Associate's degree preferred 2+ years of experience in panel building, electrical assembly, or similar field Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics Experience with functional testing, debugging, and I/O checkout Current knowledge of electrical codes, safe wiring practices, and safety procedures Familiarity with customer-specific requirements for industrial panels Field installation experience preferred Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and complex electrical schematics.
Location and Environment:
On-site with occasional field work Panel fabrication facility and customer locations
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for fine assembly work Frequently required to lift and move items up to 50 pounds May require bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and reaching Good near vision required for detailed assembly and debugging work May work in various environmental conditions during field work The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
