JOB SUMMARY:
Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local and national electrical codes. Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly hazardous and unreliable wiring. Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit. Pull wiring through conduit. Splice wires by stripping insulation form terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps. Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-grounding leads. Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and install grounding leads. Install and troubleshoot electrical components, such as motors, generators, circuit breakers, and control panels. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope. Inspect electrical systems and equipment for defects and potential hazards. Repair faulty equipment or systems. Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Collaborate with tradespeople to ensure the proper installation of electrical systems in new construction or renovation projects. Adhere to safety protocols and follow all safety regulations while performing electrical work. Cut and weld steel structural members. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
One year certificate from college or technical school in electrical related study; one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of high voltage systems and low voltage systems Familiarity with blueprint reading Ability to use power tools and other equipment necessary for electrical work. Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve electrical issues. Must be able to climb/descend vertical ladders and comfortable with heights. Electrician certificate and Industrial electrical work experience a plus. Ability to read and write English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Physical Requirements:
Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, vision, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Both inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, humidity, noise, vibration, hazard, and atmospheric conditions.
