Facilities Commissioning & Start Up Electrician Tesla Motors, Inc. paid holidays, flex time, 401(k) United States, Texas, Brookshire May 05, 2026
What to Expect As a Commissioning and Start-up Electrician, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of the electrical systems that support critical facility infrastructure. This role involves hands-on work, where you will actively engage in commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems.
You'll work closely with Construction, Commissioning, Facilities Operations and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality electrical services, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the facility. What You'll Do Perform pre-energization checks on newly constructed electrical systems Perform troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of electrical equipment to support the facility's critical infrastructure Collaborate with other electricians to install electrical systems, including panels, circuits, lighting, and commercial equipment, following construction documents and verbal instructions Diagnose and repair electrical components such as contactors, relays, motors, and motor controls to ensure continuous operation of facility systems Conduct detailed testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including relay controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), transformers, and motor circuits using standard electrical testing methods Install and connect electrical systems, such as motor feeders, junction boxes, and distribution systems, ensuring all work complies with codes and standards Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts, to perform electrical tasks at various heights and locations within the facility What You'll Bring Strong knowledge of Control of Hazardous Energy policies (Lock Out / Tag Out) Understanding of electrical principles and theories, including voltage and current Ability to work at high elevations and read electrical schematics and proficiency in basic mathematics and electrical testing Commissioning and troubleshooting experience in Low Voltage systems.
